Jim Aldrich
New York, NY |
"Hi, my name is Jim Aldrich. I was recently on a mountain climb in the states. I was caught in a fierce snowstorm and trapped at 10,500 ft. for 72 plus hours. Luckily I had my cell phone with me but MORE importantly I had my Cellboost."
When Jim Aldrich of Homer, New York set out to climb Mt. Shasta as a fund-raising expedition for his dying friend, he never thought he would find himself fighting to save his own life. He also never imagined that an inexpensive accessory for his cell phone would be his savior.
Aldrich's story of survival began as a heartfelt fundraising gesture to help and honor his friend, Dan King of Cortland, New York, who was diagnosed with pancreatitis. An avid outdoorsman who enjoys rock, ice and mountain climbing, Aldrich asked his friends and family if they would sponsor his next expedition to the summit of Mt. Shasta to raise money for King.
Aldrich set out on a three-day trip to scale the 14,000-foot mountain. The first day went as planned. Then, early the next morning, with 10,500 feet behind him and 3,500 feet to go, Aldrich woke to fierce wind and heavy snow. A blizzard had set in. Using his phone he was able to call the local sheriff but the storm was too treacherous to send a rescue team. With wind tearing holes into his tent and running out of food and water, Aldrich spent the next 46 hours alone in a tent, on the side of a mountain, in a blizzard.
He made important calls to the authorities and his family to maintain contact and determine whether conditions were suitable for rescue. His main cell phone battery had died but he an emergency power source called CellboostT, which prevented him from ever being powerless.
Finally, after nearly two days on the side of the mountain, Aldrich decided to risk climbing back down the mountain to the tree-line where he was able to call the authorities. It was another 18 hours before they were able to send a rescue team up to save him. The last call he made before heading down the mountain with the rescue team was to his family to tell them that he was going to be okay. |

I wanted to you to know that I think your product was great.
We were on our
way to 6 Flags in Gurnee, IL and my cell phone was dying. My charger was in
another car and I was worried. We stopped in a gas station along the way and
noticed your product. My model number was not listed but decided to use it
anyway... it worked and I was able to communicate to the rest of my party
when we seperated and wanted to get back together.
I think that you should
see about getting the product down to the Bloomington, Il area so that if it
ever happens again. I can find your product.
Thanks for making such a great product.

Wal-Mart |
I am the type of consumer that lets a company know when they are doing things wrong - and when they are doing things right. It is a pleasure to write a letter about one of your employees who is doing things right by your customers. I do not remember his name, but I remember his smile, his pleasant manner and the excellent customer service I received.
On August 25, I was in the Davis area attending a seminar for my job. During the seminar, my cell phone battery quit on me and I didn't bring my charger. Unable to find a store in Davis that stocked a charger, I drove out to Woodland in hopes of finding a store that had what I needed. I was never so happy to see a Wal-Mart in my life! I walked into the Electronics Department and found a Cellboost ® -- a disposable battery charger for cell phones. This was just what I needed to get me through this tight spot - and it only cost $3.96!
I walked to the checkout stand in that department and your employee was just starting his shift. He greeted me pleasantly and with a smile. He handled my transaction and was very friendly. Though I do not recall his name, I saved my receipt, knowing that you would be able to tell which employee deserves this "pat-on-the-back" for a job well done. I have enclosed a copy for you.

Hurricane Wilma passed by few days ago and we are still without power. I found your battery packs at a Radioshack that was good enough to stay open even without electricity. Because of your batteries, we have been able to keep in touch via cell phones (our phone lines are down too) with our relatives and friends.
Thanks for a good product in time of need.

Regional Sales Manager |
As a traveling sales manager, I often times find my self running thru airports and on conference calls etcs... anyway, last week as I found myself stranded @ DFW, I realized I had left my wall charger for my phone in the hotel... knowing that I was almost out of power on my phone and not knowing how long I would be stranded every minute of "juice" became precious... yet I had many calls I need to make. Remembering that I had seen your products @ the "news rack" in the airport I thought I would give it a try. I will admit I was a bit skeptical at first but... I was pleasantly surprised when the phone came back to life and I was able to finish my business and then make the dreaded call to my wife to let her know I was going to be late... (that's another story)
As a result of that experience I am giving a Cellboost to all members my team, mother and wife to have for just such and emergency. Anyone who uses a cell phone should have one of your products in their bag or glovebox... just in case... no excuses...
Thought you would like to know of one customers experience. I am now a Blackberry User with 2 extra Cellboosts in my bag.
Thanks again for an awesome product.

I am a soldier deploy as a part of OIF and have found your product to be a valuable asset in many ways. I recently recieved a cellboost in a care package and I was impressed with it. It is a wonderful idea.
We use cellphones both deployed and back at home for business, and your product has been a great way to keep information flowing during times of fast paced operations. You have kept timelines intact with your product and I value your creation for this. I am going to look into the rest of your product line because of it's ability to keep my electronic devices going in spite of conditions I am routinly faced with.
Thanks again for continuing the american inovations going. |

| I'm Neema and I honestly have to say when I first saw the cellboost I thought it was a silly idea (really pardon me). Well that was until I left my charger in New York (I go to school in MA) and it was going to take a few days to get my charger back. Needless to say, it saved my life. Thank you for creating such an ingenious product, I always have a spare cellboost in my purse just in case. |
